Secure Wi-Fi with Content Filtering for Rental Schemes, Back Office Networks, CCTV and Access Control Solutions

San-iT provided technical support for Manchester Life, helping them set up highly-secure Wi-Fi for their deluxe tenant schemes within Ancoats. We also installed robust back-office networks for the Manchester Life staff and concierge personnel in addition to assisting with external office security.

The Client

Manchester Life is a private investment and development company which was formed in 2014 by the Abu Dhabi United Group and Manchester City Council.

After the success of a huge project to rejuvenate the area around Etihad Campus, Manchester Life set its sights on residential growth around Ancoats and New Islington.

The property investment company doesn’t just construct beautiful buildings true to Manchester’s characterful roots. It is deeply invested in the safety and prosperity of local communities, assembling local developers and building managers to work together on community policing, street lighting and neighbourhood CCTV.

The Ancoats Project

Manchester Life recently started developing rental and for sale schemes across Ancoats in partnership with Sheikh Mansour, owner of Manchester City F.C.

Its rental schemes include around the clock concierge facilities, breakout and study rooms, libraries, free Wi-Fi plus regular socials for tenants.

Each consultant responsible for their respective building also requires an office in Manchester to support local recruitment and job creation in order to gain subcontractor status.  

We worked with Manchester Life to assist them with their rental properties and offices, implementing specific technical solutions to streamline their operations and enable secure Wi-Fi for tenants.

What We Did

We installed a robust Wi-Fi solution to ensure residents could have fast internet access within their clubrooms and social spaces as well as their apartments. This came with complete information filtering across public networks to ensure content security.

Secure back office networks were also set up for the Manchester Life staff and concierge personnel. This enabled employees to communicate and work securely across the business’ network enabling better productivity.

We also helped Manchester Life boost their tenant and property security by integrating links between the rental schemes to monitor CCTV and access control from a single office.            

Achievements To Date

So far we have worked with Manchester Life on five buildings consisting of rental and for sale schemes, including Cotton Field Wharf, Sawmill Court, Murray’s Mills, One Cutting Room Square and Smith’s Yard. We are also working on two further projects which will be completed by Q2 this year.

Each project has been completed on time and within budget whilst aligned to stringent health and safety requirements. We have also worked alongside major contractors and project management companies, such as Mace Group and Eric Wright to deliver the projects to the highest of standards.

Similar Projects

The San-iT team has recently worked on a managed office project in Cheadle. We designed and installed a connectivity solution for eight office suites. We are still providing maintenance for the solution which consists of dedicated and managed services (depending on the business or tenant’s choice).

What’s more, we provide internet access to each office suite for businesses varying from two to three users to 50+ users. The solution is bolstered by various levels of redundancy including a backup internet connection (in case the primary fails), high availability routers and network switches (in the event of a hardware failure).
