Business challenge

GB Taekwondo are responsible for preparing and managing British athletes to compete on the world stage, providing World Class Performance and Talent Pathway programmes to help athletes be their best. The team of 23 may be used to thinking and working in a joined-up way, but their IT systems were not and so they came to us looking to improve their technology. This would help them deal with the most extreme version of remote working.

The strategic solution

We moved GB Taekwondo’s documents, files and data storage online, by upgrading their Office 365 Education plan to include SharePoint and OneDrive.
SharePoint and OneDrive were enabled so the team had a secure online location to store and share their documents and access them from anywhere in the world.
We also installed skype on all devices so the team could get in touch much easier through instant messaging. It also allowed the team to have internet calls which would minimise their international phone bills.

The outcome

Thanks to San-iT, GB Taekwondo now has the technology they need to operate as one unit and provide their athletes with everything they need for a gold-medal performance.

Now that all data is centralised, the team can keep control of documents and data thanks to the permissions that have been set for both team members and athletes. With Skype allowing the team to share stories and research via Yammer, the whole team can now operate as one unit, providing their athletes with everything they need for a gold-medal performance.

I have had very few issues and the ones I have, have always been dealt with quickly by a friendly member of the San-iT team on the helpdesk. In addition, when discussing technical options relating to our service we are spared confusing jargon and get good practical advice.
