Sam, Apprentice Managed Services Engineer

I’m an Apprentice Managed Services Engineer at San-IT, having started here in February 2023.

My apprenticeship is in Azure Cloud Specialism and I have an interest in developing my knowledge in the fields of networking and cyber.

As I advance and develop in my apprenticeship I will gradually be able to handle more tasks, support the MSE team and alleviate pressure for the other engineers by tackling smaller tasks.

My personality and work ethos has always been heavily based on going the extra mile, whether that be paying attention to the small details that make a new product or fulfil a service, or putting in extra hours to make sure a client gets what they need when they need it.

I believe this meshes well with San-IT as they are all about putting people first and providing excellent service.

What I love about my job is that there is lots to learn and the people who work here are lovely. The whole team from the Directors, all the way down to the newest engineers are incredibly friendly, warm and compassionate. They are happy to guide me and treat me like I’ve been a member of the team for a long time even though I have only just recently started.

Outside of work, I have a passion for cars, motorbikes and anything Japanese – be that food, the technology or the cars! I try to learn the language when I can and I regularly attend ‘Bujinkan Tai Jutsu’, a martial art based around defending yourself against an armed attacker when you are unarmed. I love tattoos as well, mine are all a form of traditional Japanese tattoo art called Irezumi.
