Louise, Director

I’ve worked at San-iT since 2011. I haven’t always been in the industry though.

After completing a business degree, I worked for the Halifax Bank for a number of years. Then I went for a complete change and decided to retrain as a teacher – something I’d always thought about since I was young. When Barry started to find that he didn’t have enough time to keep up with the admin and accounts side of the business. I initially started to help out and now, after a variety of responsibilities within the business, I am the Operations Director. I’ve loved returning back to my original interest in business and wouldn’t go back now!

My role is certainly varied, and I love that about it. I work alongside every team in the business to make sure that everyone is happy, things are running smoothly, and we are all working towards our business objectives whilst staying true to the company values, mission and purpose. The overarching theme in everything I do is about striving to improve the business for our clients and our teams, and encouraging both to embrace change. I can look back and really see how far we’ve come.

I am really passionate about San-iT being a ‘People First’ business with a happy team and happy clients. We know that a happy and engaged team is a more productive, motivated team, so for us, it makes perfect sense. This means prioritising team wellbeing and enjoyment at work, and giving people the chance to learn and develop. It’s also about creating a safe and trusting environment where everyone has a voice and an opportunity to make a real difference. We’re not about egos – just working together for a common goal. That means I have great colleagues who are kind and supportive.

One of the most rewarding parts of the job is hearing the positive feedback that we get from clients about our service and from the team about working at San-iT. It makes it all worthwhile. 

When I’m not busy working, it’s important for me to spend time with my family and friends, cramming in as many holidays as possible when the schools are off, eating good food, reading (mainly business books, believe it or not!) and going to the gym.
