Alison, Head of People and Engagement

I’m the Head of People & Engagement at San-iT.  So, that means I’m responsible for everything people related and I work to embed policies and practices that align with our core values.

I’m tasked with attracting and retaining key talent by developing and nurturing San-iT’s internal culture. I’m passionate about employee engagement and wellbeing.

Before deciding on a career change, I worked for 15 years as a litigation solicitor. My years as a lawyer allowed me to develop strong listening and communication skills and I work hard to build strong, collaborative and productive relationships with the whole San-iT team, because being part of a team and working collectively is exactly how we operate at San -iT. There are no egos, and everyone has a voice.

Whilst change can be quite scary, I embrace it. I’m proud to have played a big part in reshaping the people function of the business from a more traditional HR service to an agile, strategic, forward-thinking and people-first business. I genuinely care about people and their wellbeing, that is why I love working for an organisation like San-iT.  Our people are key to our success.

Away from work, I enjoy exercising – usually classes at the gym – and I love walking my dog, Max. My two kids take up most of my spare time, however when I do get a break, I love listening to music and going to the cinema. I’m lucky enough to be married to a man who can cook; therefore, I enjoy trying different meals that I don’t have to make! Nothing beats sharing good food and wine with friends and family.
